The Kiss - Live from the Garage - Full Band Recording
This is a song that I wrote last July and it's one of those songs that gets a fantastic reaction every time we've played it live, so I wanted to do a live(ish) video of me and the boys performing the song.
"The Kiss" is arguably the most famous painting by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. The painting is currently on display at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere outside of Vienna, Austria. We took a trip there last February and we really wanted to see the painting, but we unfortunately ran out of time. The song is really about all the things in life that we want, but sometimes life has other plans for us. But, in the search for the things we want, we have all kinds of other adventures along the way.
Performance credits for this song include Ryan 'Beatz' Beck on drums, Rich Florey on lead guitar, Landon Curtis on Bass, and myself on vocals and rhythm guitar. You'll also see Rich's 2 year old son George rocking out in the audience. The version you're hearing here is basically the live version we cut with some vocal overdubs added just to clean up the sound a bit.
Lyrics to “The Kiss”
Such a short time
I wanna be here
I got it all comin soon
The situations ripe for troubles
My fate was made here
In this room
I wanna see the sights
My end is your beginning
3 flat tires on my car
My ride is over, but before I go
I wanna see the kiss! 4x
Disco night life
Sweat and sin
It tastes a little strong sometimes
Yeah!!!!!
Execution, flawless face
You packed your bags
You shaved your legs
Three night stars in my sky
I never listen
I wanna see the kiss! 4x
It’s just a window
It’s not door
I’ve seen it all
And I want more
You’re somethin special
You’re Somethin new
You’ve seen the truth
And it’s seen you
