Time For Spring - Acoustic Version

It was one of those February days where there was still snow everywhere, but the temperature had gotten up to around 50º. This was in about 2010 and I can remember the sound of melted snow from my roof pouring into the gutters and seeing clumps of snow falling off the trees around my house. I was over winter and it felt like spring was right around the corner and it inspired me to put pen to paper.

A few years later when we were looking for material for the Pissed Off Catfish album Homeward Bound, this song came to mind. We had Rob Doty sing the track on the album and he really transformed it into an amazing track. This acoustic version is designed to be closer to the original demos that I cut of the song. I also had Rich Florey help me out with some lead guitar work and he did a fantastic job.

‘Time for Spring’ Lyrics

I'm out of alcohol
The sun is shining in
Keeps me speechless for the season
I warm my feet again

And I can't feel at all
There's numbness in my veins
I keep on saying nothing's wrong
The days all look the same, yeah

And lately it's been all that’s on my mind
The winter thaw, the dawn is coming in
And I'm pretty sure it must be real this time
This time....it's time for spring again

It's the final day of winter
Supplies are gettin' low
It keeps me dreaming of the season
I feel like letting go, yeah

And lately it's been all that's on my mind
The winter thaw, the dawn is coming in
And I'm pretty sure it must be real this time
This time....it's time for spring again
